"I first met Anne in the Oakland Hills at a house showing --some friends were considering buying and we were having fun touring homes with them. Anne was the selling agent. We were not in the market, but she gave us her card, with a genuine smile, and we parted ways. The house was beautifully decorated and we swooned over what it would be like to live in it. We lived a few miles away in a rather small house. Fast forward two years. After the pandemic, my partner and I decided we needed more space than our tiny house in Rockridge could provide--the smallest, cheapest house on the block was a good investment, but it was not serving our needs anymore. But should we sell and upgrade, or renovate our home in the neighborhood we loved so much? Should we love it or list it? Because Anne was so smart and nice, we remembered her. We decided to approach her over email for advice as we contemplated whether to renovate or sell our house because we needed more space. Then we met Josh, who is as smart and nice as Anne! Josh came over to our house to check out the situation and give us his candid feedback on our property and its potential. At first it was a simple request to gain a sense of the market. Soon, we relied up on both of them as a team to help us through a very tricky renovation loan process, which included their advice as we had to work through an appraisal to assess the future value of the home, a key factor in obtaining a renovation loan. As we struggled to decide to sell or renovate, Anne toured our home with an interior designer and Anne and Josh then provided a detailed marketing plan in case we wanted to sell even though they knew we would most likely renovate. On short notice, they provided comparable home value reports to us (for free!) as the market evolved over the full year it took for us to reach a decision. They offered all of these services for nothing, in a "pay it forward" approach. All the while, they truly supported us in whichever decision we would ultimately make and as such, it was clear that they were acting as our fiduciaries, even though they weren't getting anything out out it at that time. This is the most salient test of character. Anne and Josh were most interested in making sure that what we were doing was in our best interests. The two of them are diamonds in the rough of what can be an emotionally draining real estate market in the East Bay. I cannot recommend them more highly if you are interested in selling your home. They will take care of all the small and little details and make you feel like you matter, because to them, you do. They are wonderful humans are incredible, trustworthy, talented professionals who are on top of it all, fun and optimistic people."
